Brief: Here East is an initiative based in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London UK. Currently, they are transforming the old Olympic Games grounds into a commercial space for start-ups and upcoming retail businesses in London. Along with branding agency dn&co, POKE have been tasked to design and develop a website that provides as much information on the progress of each phase of development as they unfold in a clear and beautiful layout for users to easily absorb information on the development.
Challenge: With this latest phase came the request for a new layout feel due to new branding look and feel from dn&co's print collateral. We also needed to stay on a relative tight budget, therefore looking into a template approach to the design. We also had to consider that the site is a fluid responsive build. This proved difficult to balance template design layouts with a fluid build development.
Result: A fluid responsive website with each new page's sections as modules while respecting as best as possible the template design layouts presented in design stage. Content on some of the pages is supported with a unique CMS as those pages' content would constantly continue to update as more businesses signed up to be a part of the commercial development. The rest of the pages were hard-coded.
